Haven Hill Festival Fun at Highland Recreation Area on September 26th

This year’s Haven Hill Festival is coming soon on Saturday, September 26, from 10am until 3pm, at Highland State Recreation Area.

Enjoy the Haven Hill Barn Stormers and their guests the Royal Oak Wahoos for a 10am Vintage Base Ball match. Guest speakers will be featured starting at 12 Noon under the Goose Meadow Pavilion and the Outdoors and History Tent Fair will be in Goose Meadow all day!

At 2pm the United Flying Organization RC club will be doing flying demonstrations in the air above Goose Meadow. Don’t miss it!

Shuttle buses will provided around the area and up and down the Hill. See the amazing newly improved Haven Hill Lodge Site and the fantastic renovations to Edsel and Eleanor Ford’s former Gatehouse. All of the Haven Hill historic Ford buildings including the Barn and Carriage House will be open for you and guided by the great Friends of Highland Recreation Area volunteer docents.

The Friends of Highland Recreation Area (FOHRA) volunteer organization was established in 2007, and is a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt non-profit organization operating under lease agreement with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Within one of the most picturesque, fascinating, and historically significant state parks in southeast lower Michigan, our goal is to combine the former Haven Hill estate history with Highland Recreation Area’s existing amenities, wilderness, and recreation.
