New Things to See and Do at the 2025 Haven Hill Festival... Saturday, September 27

The 2025 Haven Hill Festival will showcase some GREAT new experiences at Highland State Recreation Area on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

Renovations to the famous Haven Hill Lodge site will be on full display with new walking surfaces, rejuvenated stonework, and the revival of the grand chimney! Visit the Ball Game and Outdoors and History displays and other events in Goose Meadow, then enjoy a stroll up the Hill or ride a shuttle van to see the new Carriage House roof and the Lodge site. Take a ride over to the Edsel Ford Barn. All sites will be hosted by volunteer docents sharing informative Haven Hill history. Festival hours are from 10am until 3:00pm when formal activities begin winding down - but stay to enjoy your beautiful Park!

And of course don’t forget the Vintage Base Ball game in the Meadow and live music from 10:00 am until Noon. Followed by free lectures by Oakland Birders Alliance and United Flying Organization under the newly renovation Goose Meadow Pavilion. Model aircraft flying demonstrations too!

Food and beverages will be available all day as a fundraiser from the volunteers of the Friends of Highland Recreation Area group.

There’s so much to see and do on Saturday, September 27 at Highland State Recreation Area!

Event is FREE with Recreation Passport required. Passport purchase available at the park entrance if needed.

The Friends of Highland Recreation Area (FOHRA) volunteer organization was established in 2007, and is a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt non-profit organization operating under lease agreement with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Within one of the most picturesque, fascinating, and historically significant state parks in southeast lower Michigan, our goal is to combine the former Haven Hill estate history with Highland Recreation Area’s existing amenities, wilderness, and recreation.
