Michigan’s Highland State Recreation Area in Oakland County will feature some great night hikes on Saturday evenings in January 2025. Come enjoy the Cedar Creek Trail after dark and enjoy a great evening hike in the New Year. Edsel and Eleanor Ford’s former Haven Hill Gatehouse will serve as a warming location near the MDNR entrance station. Details shown in the flyer. See ya there!

The Friends of Highland Recreation Area (FOHRA) volunteer organization was established in 2007, and is a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt non-profit organization operating under lease agreement with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Within one of the most picturesque, fascinating, and historically significant state parks in southeast lower Michigan, our goal is to combine the former Haven Hill estate history with Highland Recreation Area’s existing amenities, wilderness, and recreation.

Adults and Children come visit the Haven Hill Gatehouse in Highland State Recreation Area on Saturday, September 28th at 1, 2, or 3pm for a LIVE Shadow Puppet Show presented by Friends of Highland Recreation Area (FOHRA) volunteer member Ted Sienkiewicz.
